Application
DISINFECTION AND STERILIZATION OF COSMETIC TOOLS
Metal tools must be decontaminated before use.
Stages of processing manicure/pedicure tools:
washing
disinfection
sterilization
After the service is performed, all tools are considered contaminated and must undergo a new sterilization process. This procedure is also necessary before starting work with new tools.
After use, the tools should be cleaned of organic residues and residues of varnishes or acrylic and placed in an ultrasonic cleaner with a washing and disinfecting solution.
When choosing disinfectants, remember to have a maximum spectrum of action on enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, fungi and yeasts, bacteria and tuberculosis bacilli.
The best effects are obtained using ultrasonic cleaners
IMPORTANT!
During disinfection, strictly follow the instructions for preparing the selected preparation! Failure to follow the rules for solution preparation, exposure time, temperature and concentration may cause corrosion and loss of cutting properties of the tools. Tools that are already rusty or show signs of corrosion should be derusted or thrown away. It is not allowed to disinfect rusty and non-rusty tools in the same bath.
After performing the disinfection procedure, it is necessary to rinse the tools with water to remove any residues of the disinfectant solution. After rinsing, the tools must be dried thoroughly, e.g. with a lint-free towel, and then the moving parts must be oiled with medical paraffin. Metal tools are suitable for high-temperature sterilization in a type B autoclave.
The tools should be sterilized in a sterile barrier (paper-foil bags or sleeves) to maintain sterility after sterilization and to enable their storage. Tools should be sterilized only in efficient autoclaves with a valid inspection and only and exclusively using demineralized or distilled water with a purity specified by the autoclave manufacturer. Using poor quality water may cause corrosion and destruction of the tool.
We do not recommend using ball sterilizers. This can cause mechanical damage and lack of sterility of the tools. Improper washing or disinfection of tools after use or skipping one of the stages significantly reduces the effectiveness of sterilization and can cause corrosion and rust.
When processing tools, it is important to:
Use personal protective equipment (head cover, mask, long rubber gloves, waterproof apron);
Do not use brass/copper brushes or metal sponges for cleaning, etc.
Do not use alcohol-based preparations
Disinfection solution temperature not higher than 40C
Do not use chlorinated water to prepare the disinfection solution or to rinse tools
The Semilac brand is not responsible for damage to tools as a result of failure to follow the rules of disinfection and sterilization. The corrosion resistance of steel, tools only retain when all rules and instructions are followed, as well as when using high-quality and certified cleaning and disinfection agents. It is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions and procedures attached to the disinfectants and sterilizing devices.
